Hello Sustack Community,
I wanted to share something I recently posted in the Wealthy Affiliate Community — a space that’s been instrumental in helping me build multiple websites, publish books, and create my soon-to-launch course, Sell What You Know.
If you’ve ever wondered how to get started online or felt overwhelmed by all the moving parts of digital business, you’re not alone. I came into this world with no prior experience in marketing or web design, and now, I’m building sustainable digital assets from the ground up.
Below is the blog I wrote to encourage others just starting. I hope it inspires you, too. If you’ve ever considered building an online business of your own, check out Wealthy Affiliate here—it’s the platform that got me started, and I still use it daily.
If you’ve ever wanted to turn your knowledge into something valuable, my Sell What You Know course series was built for that.
The first course — launching soon — helps you capture, organize, and structure your ideas to build a system around what you already know. It’s the foundation for turning your skills into income.
No tech is overwhelming, and AI tools are included to make it easier. Future courses in the series will guide you step-by-step into packaging and selling your knowledge for profit.
Now, here’s the original blog:
Hi WA Community,
When I first joined Wealthy Affiliate, I did not know what direction I was heading. I had recently closed a business where marketing wasn't needed — the clients came directly through state contracts. Building websites, using affiliate links, and writing blog posts… was all unfamiliar territory.
Fast-forward, I’ve launched multiple niche websites, published several self-help books, and built a course platform that’s about to go live—all thanks to what I’ve learned here at WA.
Like many of you, I started with just a spark of an idea. I followed my interests in writing, genealogy, coaching, and productivity, and WA gave me the tools to turn those passions into real, working platforms. The support, structure, and community made such a difference for me.
🚀 What I’ve Gained Through WA:
Confidence to build and manage my websites
Skills to structure and publish digital products
A roadmap for affiliate income and long-term growth
Encouragement to keep going even when juggling too much
🎯 Paying It Forward:
If you're just getting started, here’s what I’ve learned the hard way:
Stick with it. Watch the training, follow the steps, and participate as much as possible.
Get specific. The more focused your niche is, the easier it is to attract the right audience.
Start building your audience early. Don’t wait until everything is perfect — start connecting now.
I did a solid job with the first one… but looking back, I wish I had focused more on #2 and #3. They make a huge difference in staying clear, identifying your ideal audience, and gaining traction faster.
One thing I didn’t fully realize early on is that having a large following doesn’t necessarily mean people are interested in your product, service, or content. Relevance matters more than reach.
✨ One Quick Project I’m Excited About:
My newest course, Sell What You Know, will be live shortly. It’s a mini-course that helps people turn their knowledge into income through a systemized, AI-supported platform. It’s the first in a series — and it's built to help others take action fast, even with no tech experience.
If anyone here has tips or experience marketing a new course or building strategic partnerships through platforms like LinkedIn, I’d love to connect and hear your approach.
Thanks again to the WA community for helping me build something I never thought possible.
Positive vibes,
-Mollie
